Garage Door Services in Murfreesboro, TN
Nineteen jobs on nineteen pages, each priced on its own with the part named, so you buy the repair the door needs and not a package built around the biggest ticket.
Garage door services in Murfreesboro, TN come down to nineteen pages on this site, and every one is work we do at residential garages across the city and Rutherford County. They split four ways: repairs to the door and its hardware, work on the opener, new doors, and the maintenance that pushes the next repair further out.
Two tests decide which page you need before anyone comes out. Pull the red release cord with the door closed and lift. If the door is too heavy to raise by hand, the problem is in the springs. If it lifts easily but the opener will not move it, the problem is in the opener. Everything else, a crooked door, a grinding one, one stuck part way, a blinking opener light, is covered below with the 2026 price band for each.

Every Service, Grouped by What Failed
Repair. A broken torsion or extension spring is the most common call and the one that leaves a car behind the door. Snapped or frayed lift cables drop one side and hang the door crooked in the opening. A door that has jumped its track after a bumper strike or a popped roller has to be reseated before the opener runs again. Worn rollers grind and shake, bent or loose track binds the door, and a dented or cracked section can often be matched instead of replacing the whole door. A door that will not open or close today goes to the front of the day inside posted hours. If you are not sure which spring system your door has, the torsion and extension comparison explains how to tell and when a conversion is worth the $400 to $800 it costs.
Openers. An opener that runs but does not lift, stops a few inches up, or quit after a power outage is usually a gear, a logic board or a travel limit. When the unit is past repair, or was made before 1993 and has no entrapment protection, a new chain, belt or wall-mount unit replaces it. Belt drives suit a bedroom over the garage; a wall-mount opener sits beside the torsion shaft and frees the ceiling. Photo eyes that keep the door from closing, and remotes and keypads that need pairing, each have their own page.
New doors. Replacing the whole door covers steel sectional doors in 8, 9, 16 and 18 foot widths, the old door hauled away, and wind rating against the 115 mph design wind speed Murfreesboro builds to. The insulated doors page compares polystyrene and polyurethane by R-value for an attached garage in a Tennessee July. The carriage house page covers wood, composite and full-view glass and what each costs installed.
Maintenance. A tune up is lubrication, a balance test, the reversal and photo eye tests, and hardware tightening, usually $100 to $200. Weather seal replacement covers the bottom astragal, the side and top vinyl stops, and threshold seals for a slab that lets water in. Every page in all four groups is listed below.

Four things homeowners describe on the phone, and where each one usually leads. If yours is not here, call and describe it; the diagnosis is free with the visit.
A bang in the garage, then the door would not budge
A torsion spring has broken. The opener may still run, but it is not built to lift 300 to 450 pounds without the spring. On a two-spring door both are replaced, because the second has the same cycle count as the one that failed. The visit takes 30 to 60 minutes.
One side dropped and the door sits crooked
A lift cable has snapped or come off its drum, or a roller has left the track. Do not run the opener and do not lift the door; the side still under tension carries the full spring load. Both cables are replaced and the drums reset in one visit.
It will not close and the light on the opener blinks
The photo eyes at the bottom of the tracks cannot see each other. They sit no higher than 6 inches off the floor, so they get kicked, blocked or hit by low sun. Realigning or replacing them is a short visit, and the reversal test follows.
It works, but it grinds, shakes or screams
Rollers with dry or worn bearings, hinges with play in them, or track out of alignment. A 7 foot door runs on 10 rollers, and sealed nylon rollers last 10 years or more against 5 to 7 for standard ones. A tune up catches it earlier; a roller set fixes it.
